Green Garden Country Club – Links Course
Probably my favorite course in Chicagoland right now, and I only just found it. Kind of annoyed at myself honestly. I’ve lived in the south suburbs for almost five years and somehow missed this place the whole time.

Par Mix: Good mix of Par 3’s, 4’s & one 5

Overview
Green Garden has 45 holes total, and like always I gravitate toward the 9 hole option. The Emerald links course is the one I keep coming back to.
The way the three courses blend together is a little unusual on paper, but it works great in practice. You can almost always see another group out playing somewhere in the distance, and I mean that as a compliment. You’re never crowded or on top of anyone, but there’s a real “golf is happening all around you” energy the whole round. Hard to explain, easy to feel once you’re out there.
Add in a great pro shop staff and a genuinely nice restaurant and bar, and this is a full day kind of course, not just a quick nine and go.

If you're in the south suburbs and haven't played Green Garden yet, fix that. The Emerald 9 alone is worth the drive, and the vibe of the whole property is something you don't get at most public courses. A slight knock for the location, but that's a small price for a course this good.
