Golf Course Reviews
Most of these rounds happen before the house wakes up. A quick 9, coffee still working its way through the system, home before anyone notices you’re gone. The rare 18 is a treat, and when the weather or the schedule doesn’t cooperate, an indoor simulator scratches the itch just fine.
This isn’t a scratch golfer’s take on pin positions and green speeds. It’s a dad squeezing in golf where he can find it, sharing what courses are worth the early alarm and which simulators are worth the round when you can’t get outside. Fun first, score whenever.

Odyssey Golf Course
Went out right after a week of Illinois rain, which was my first mistake. Cart path only, mud everywhere, and I only got through 7 holes. Still a good course with a solid bar and some of the nicest people I’ve run into at a golf course.

Wedgewood Golf Course
Fast rounds, a good bar, and a pro shop full of good people keep this in regular rotation. Just budget for non-resident rates and don’t expect tour-quality greens.

Green Garden Country Club
Probably my favorite course in Chicagoland right now, and I only just found it. Kind of annoyed at myself honestly. I’ve lived in the south suburbs for almost five years and somehow missed this place the whole time.

Silver Lake Country Club – Rolling Hills
Highly recommend Silver Lake Rolling Hills for anyone in the area, especially if you want an early 9 that does not take up your whole day. And if you have more time, the North and South courses at Silver Lake are worth the trip too.
